Day 52 : What? 7 Dishes?!

Holy eff, tomorrow is the day I return home….Canada!

Today, I woke up extra early to chat with a friend and that buttface ran off to the store before I closed and didn’t come back til later so I just fell in and out of sleep which was sooo good. So I got up and got ready for the day and we went out to buy sushi and take out for the 5 of us (aunt’s at work) We all eat and after awhile we have nothing to do so I ask mom to go out with me to buy some clothes for some people. We go out, do the baby clothes shopping and an extra t-shirt for my godsister and head over to this street where I buy my first pair of black tights! Haha. I have ass for days...lol Not something to be proud of I don’t think. But anyways, we came home and then we headed out once against, the four of us, to Wan Chai to buy some candy, then we took the subway to Mong Kok to get my parent’s new glasses. We get them and then we walk around Woman Street to just look at random stuff. We end up getting some reusable bags and a second pair of black tights! I still want shorter ones because these are mid-calf and it looks funny. Haha. Anyways, after having drinks at Saint Alps or whatever it’s called, my brother and I get on the metro and head over to another place to meet up with my aunt (dad’s brother’s wife) to hang out with her and have dinner.

We get there at our meeting point and there is this fat kid (haha, it’s true. We called him fatty) and for some reason, at the vending machine, there is stuck 3 cans of pop and a bottle of water…I’m not sure HOW but it happened. He gave up trying to get them and we tried to get them. We were self named fatties. Afterwards, my aunt gets there and we head off to catch a bus to our destination for dinner but first, a little bit of shopping. She takes us back to CityWalk where we were yesterday with Sam and takes us to Hang Ten which wasn’t great and then we walk around some more looking at things. Afterwards we head over to one place for dinner and it actually turns out that it’s closed so we catch a taxi and head back over to another mall that we were ALSO at yesterday with Sam. We joked how she should of just came with us yesterday. We had Thai food for dinner. We were looking at the menu forever and we started to order and it turned out we had 7 dishes! We’re insane. Haha. We then took out two dishes and made one dish a smaller dish. Dinner was delicious and very filling. Later we walk back around and went to see if we could get Ivan’s new watch fixed (make smaller) couldn’t find anyone so we went and got some moon cakes and took a mini bus home.

Now, this mini bus is something. For 17$HK (which is about 2.50$CND, and a lot cheaper than just a regular bus or the subway) We got from one place to another in 30 minutes which would usually take a lot longer. The second we got on the bus, its seat belts and hand on the “Oh Shit!” Handle on the seat infront of us. This bus was only going 40km/h sometimes but it felt so fast and when he turns it was like “Whoa shit!” Ivan almost flew out of his seat twice. It was totally awesome, at one point, 6 lanes became 2 and it worked out with no injuries and horns honking. We get in and to Causeway Bay and start walking to where my parents, aunts, and grandma is having dinner and we almost get there and my aunt just pops out of no where once again and follows us to where dinner is. Afterwards, my bro and I come home first, shower and all that, then people come home again, we eat dragon eyes, and people are getting ready for bed.

Today is my last day here and I’m not exactly sure how I feel about leaving. I’m super excited to actually be home and see all my friends and what not. I’m going to miss my parents and most of my family, especially my grandma. I’m going to miss all the amazing food I can always get around here. Going to miss the ever so convenient transportation and way of payment with a rub of a card on an electrical pad of some sort. Going to miss all the shopping malls and all the other random places you can go here. I’m going to miss Hong Kong but I really can’t wait to get back to Canada where I really belong.

I have 2-3 solid packed days once I’m back! So excited. First thing, I get back to London, Braden will be there to pick little ol’ me and my brother up from Robert Q, then drive us home where Blair, Marcus, and Rebecca will be there to greet little ol’ me! And then just staying up little longer going through luggage and stuff and then sleeping with the 3 of them (Maybe 4 if Braden for some reason sleeps over too. Haha). Then Saturday, I think I still want to go pick up my Certificate at Fanshawe, and then some creek that Marcus wants to go to, and then Sunfest fo-sho. Then Sunday, more hang outs with my friends! WOOO! Then that’s it for now.

TIME TO HANG OUT UNTIL LATE IN THE NIGHT AND DO NOTHING

Thanks.

Day 51 : So much walking!!!

So today was another day where we got up semi early to go out for afternoon tea with our family friend, Sam, which included a lot walking around.

I got up like usual and got ready and while getting ready, my dad was watching the Michael Jackson funeral thinger and he fast forward at one point and I say “what are you doing?” and he says “I don’t want to watch this” and my brother says “but this is what you watch and you watch ceremonies like this!” we laughed at him for sure. Afterwards, we all got ready and took the subway to where Sam was waiting with her other and one of his niece. We get there and food there was great. Sam’s niece was so adorable and happy about such simple things. I miss being 4 years old and when being able to pick up a piece of food with chopstick impressed people. Anyways, afterwards we walked around some shopping malls and what not and did a bunch of walking and shopping. I ended up in Esprit buying a pair of jeans that would original be around 60$CND for only 20$CND. We came home and my brother and I went to pick up a gift and got some candy from Honey Bee (AMAZING STUFF) and then home, shower, dinner, did some packing, and I’m tired as fuck so I want to go to bed ASAP.

I can’t wait to get home where I live a carefree life with no more worries. I’m going to leave everything behind in HK. All the silly worries that I cared about; I shall care no more! He was confusing anyways.

Thanks.

Day 50 : Oh My God! Day 50!

AH! Today was one exciting day because I met a friend of mine for the first time!

Today I got up around 11:30AM and started to slowly get ready for the day. I got ready for the day and then we went out for afternoon tea. While there, I tried to wash the chopsticks/cups/bowls/spoons but after I did the chopsticks and went for the cups, it was too hot for me and I passed it off to my dad. Haha. The food was great as always. Afterwards We went home and it was about 1:45PM or so and chilled out for abit and went out about 2:25PM to meet up with my friend CARMAN! I know Carman through my friend other friend Cory that lives in London. So we met up, and then my brother and dad went off to look for a bag while we shopped around in Time Square. When I say shop around, I mean do a quick round and then left to walk around the shopping island and then some other part of the mall. Then my brother and dad met up with us and then we walked around some more. We found a BrosProduct store and we went in and looked around some, went to look around at some other stuff in the mall and bought a gift for a friend. Afterwards, my dad left and the three of us went to IKEA and walked around. While at IKEA, I saw this stuff animal bulldog that Mike has and I’m all “AHHH! I WANT HIIIMMMM!!!” And my brother said no and we went along. Afterwards, Carman took us to have some milk like pudding and it was soooo good and SOO filling! It was crazy good. Then Ivan left us and Carman and I went to the Pink Mall to look for another gift for a friend. Then we took a picture together and said our goodbye. AH! I’m going to miss her! Came home, and went out again with my mom to get groceries, came home again, showered, dinner, and now blog and ready for bed.

Thanks.

Day 49 : Mountain top?! WHAT?!

I woke up way later than I think I should of but it felt so good.

I woke up around 11:30 and got ready for the day. Shadow has booked us for afternoon tea so we head over there. The food there was pretty good! Not bad at all. Afterwards, my brother, my cousin, and I went to my cousin’s house to visit our younger cousin…which is a dog. Haha. That dog is sooo funny! We get there and he has a cone on and he’s barking at us but in a happy kind of way wondering who we are. After awhile he starts hiding under the table and not coming near us. After my cousin heats up a small piece of sponge cake and we start feeding him. He’s pretty cute but still a fraidy cat. After awhile I managed to get at hime and started scratching at his neck and back and tummy and when I stopped he walked towards me and put his front paws on my lap and I went back to scratching him. He became an attention whore but it was so cute. Later we pretended to leave and he’d follow you to the door, but when u go to walk towards him, he runs away! It’s so funny. But later we did finally leave to go to the Mountain Top. It was nice. We bought some stuff and then waked around and took some pictures and headed home. Later my aunt (dad’s side) comes over to visit bringing us JellyBellys mmm mmm good! Then later for dinner we had a Brazilian buffet that was awesome. Best part is the people that worked there haha. Boy’s and their CRAZY hair here. Ah, love! Haha. And there is this one boy that goes in and out of the kitchen holding giant sword skewers of food asking if you want any! I thought it was a cute job, haha. Then we came home and we all showered and that has been my day.

I see my friend Carman tomorrow and we hang out for awhile so I’m excited! YAY!

Day 47 : Hmm…do I really need more candy?

Today was kind of boring so I’m just going to keep it short and sweet.

I woke up, got ready, went out for afternoon tea with some family friends, went and bought candy, went and looked at shoes, went to the family friend’s house, took the subway home, showered, dinner, went out again, came home and changed, ate some dragon eye and that’s it.

Short and sweet just for you.

Day 46 : Grandma, grandpa, I’m here to see you.

Today my family of four head over to see my dad’s side of the family and have dinner with them. While there we go see my grandma and grandpa (dad’s side) at their grave. I’m going to keep this short because I want to go to bed sometime soon. Haha.

I wake up this morning around 10AM and get ready and all that to head out at 11:30AM to Choi Hung where my uncle (dad’s oldest brother) live. We get there and we have little lunch. It was us 4, my uncle and my oldest cousin. Food was pretty good! I had this fried noodled with black pepper sauce and chicken on top. Afterwards we head to the market to buy all the things we need to visit my grandpa/grandma at their grave. Tradition here is very different. To visit them we buy a lot of burnable things. Yes, burnable things. We buy a lot of incense, candles, money, clothing, gold, that we put into this giant paper bag to burn. Next we buy a chicken, some pork, their favourite drinks, and some ice cream. We get to the place they are settled and it’s a giant building with cement cubbies where they have their own plaque. We put up all the incense and candles, set the food out opened and such, and then we put all the stuff we bought into the paper bag (after taking off the plastic wrap), spread out all the money in the bag and we burn that afterwards. Lots of talking to them and serving them a drink. It’s a very interesting tradition compared to going to a grave in this park like place with flowers.

Afterwards, we go to my aunt’s house (dad’s older sister), we sit around for abit and my brother, oldest boy cousin, girl cousin, mom, and I head off to look at cameras and all those other things. Afterwards we go back to my uncle’s house for dinner and such. After dinner, we come home and all that fun stuff.

That’s essentially my day and now I want to go to bed soo goodnight!

Day 44/45 : In Macau…

Not much has been done of my blog because I was in Macau for the past two days but those two days were very interesting none the less. I’m writing this blog on day…46 so I’m trying to remember things. If things seem out of order…they might be. Haha.

We had to leave early that day so I was up at 7:30AM, which hasn’t happened since the first couple days I was here…it was hard getting up. Haha. Anyways, we all got up, we all got ready and we headed out to catch the bus. We get to our bus stop and it’s like “Oh…bus doesn’t come here…hmm…” So we call up my aunt and say “WHERE THE HELL DO WE GO?!” (of course not those exact words) and we walk around and find out true bus stop. By this time, I’m already sweating buckets. We get on the bus and I sit with my aunt and we chat about random things and we finally get to our ferry port…station…fuck. Lol ANYWAYS. We go into this giant building where people walk around before taking the ferry and we sit at McDonalds for a little breakfast. I’ll tell you this, there is definitely more variety here BUT they taste SLIGHTLY different. I had a sausage mcmuffin and a hashbrown and ice tea for a drink. I can say the ice tea is a little sweater, hashbrown hasd skin left on it which didn’t bother me much, but the sausage mcmuffin tasted different which wasn’t a bad thing, just a slight differences. That does not matter! We go and wait for our TurboJet and we get on and it essentially just hovers over water with giant water jets and it was already wavy enough out so the boat is just rocking and rocking. I end up hurling up my breakfast. We get off, we stand in line forever to get into Macau and when we’re finally in and ready to leave, we talk to some people about renting a small 22 person bus and that took forever just talking prices and such. We finally pick one and we head off!

We go to this small restaurant and we’re all ordering food and it was just hectic but whatever, the food was good in the end. It was weird because the law/rule of smoking in public places hasn’t been succeeded yet so there are people smoking all over the place, which was weird for me. We finish and we head off to our hotel. Took them awhile to actually get our rooms and stuff but we then later went off. This is where I start to forget what happens next. We go to a lot of random places just to get pictures, I have a lot so you’ll get to see all those sometime soon. I only really remember later that night. We go to Wynn and I go with most of them into the casino to see what’s so amazing. Nothing super grand if you don’t like gambling but there was a show of 3 girls dressed up in cat suits…haha. Not so great other than their bottoms. We then leave and at Lisboa we go for the buffet. Holy crap, this buffet is one ballin’ buffet for just little under 30 dollars. We sat the furthest from the buffet which was a plus, get a little exercise in there. This buffet went on FOREVER! If you started from the beginning, you’d only make it 1/3 or less of the way up the line and have to either go back to your table or grab another plate and a friend to help you. It was just that awesome and the food was soooo good!!! I don’t even know how to start describing it! The oysters with cheese ontop, the shrimp, the tempura, desserts, ice cream, sashimi, ah! So much foooood!!! It was just amazing. If you get a chance to have a buffet dinner at the Lisboa, GO! It’s totally worth that 30 dollars to eat yourself to the point of “I’m about to throw up.” After Lisboa, we walk around for a bit to look at other casino’s and what not but it ended up with one of my aunts and her two kids so we decide to head back to the hotel while the rest keep jumping from casino to casino. We get home and I get in the shower and all that and get ready for bed. By the time I’m done and blow drying my hair, my brother and mom come in and I’m about done and about to hit the sack. My mom starts to complain about how we need more blankets because we can’t share, there was already an extra blanket in our closet (which mom freaked out about thinking it was just a pillow and gave me such dirty looks about it when my aunt called and told us that), and how it’s hard to share beds and how much she’s been thinking about kicking me to the floor. I’m tired so I just move to the floor and sleep.

Wake up the next morning around 7:30AM to start getting ready for the day. Holy fuck was it cold in our hotel room. Ivan is crazy and set it so low that I wasn’t truly warm enough. Whatever. We all get ready, wake everyone else up, chill in our hotel room for a bit and we head downstairs to the breakfast buffet. Thankfully we get there early and there was only a few people there. After one round of decent food, a bunch of Indians/”brown” (I’m sorry but I can’t think of the proper term right now) came in and used their hands for like…everything that isn’t hot. So all the fruits, bread and ugh. We sat next to the buffet so we saw it all. We watched for a new batch and we went for those. That day we go to the CityMall and get a little tour of the place and inside that area and we go into this clothing store full of brand names which blew my mind when I saw the cost. Afterwards we had ice cream which was called New Zealand original or something of another. It was sooo good. From there we head back to the CityMall and we play in the arcade for abit. From there we walk back and this is where we head for The Venetian casino/hotel where we have lunch in the food court. Oh man, food was good aswell. After all that, my aunt and her two kids walk around the mall. This mall is so awesome. Lots of pictures will be up soon. They have gondola rides and performers all over the place. This place is pretty amazing and I wish we had one…haha. Afterwards we decide to go home early so we head over to the ferry. For some odd reason, we booked our boat ride home for 11PM which is ridiculous. We head over there and somehow get some extra seats for the 7PM ferry. I took some gravol like pills to keep me from hurling and we get home and go out for dinner near home. I was so tired and cranky of waiting around in a super busy place standing next to dirty dishes, I didn’t stay long, left after the 4/10 dish to get there and I came home to shower.

Afterwards I put all my things back in their place and headed to bed.

Thanks.

Day 43 : A day of celebrations and protest and sweet kicks.

Ah, today was one hot sweaty day of celebration and protest and then some sweet kicks.

This morning I woke up around…11:30PM and got ready for the day to go out for afternoon tea with the family. We decided to go to another place that we went the other day with the family friend. So we got ready and while leaving, we witness the celebration of July 1st of Hong Kong and then the protest of lots of random stuff…I’m not even sure. So we take the transway and head over. My brother and I were upstairs and we creeped on all the people that were doing the celebrating parade of July 1st. We’re walking around trying to get to our restaurant and it was just sooo hot, I was sweating like CRAZY. So we eat and all that stuff and head home once again.

We get home, we settle for a bit and I decide to go out and get some pictures of the protest. I’m standing out there, snapping pictures and I just feel like I was being creeped on. After an hour I decide to go home and heck I already got darker. Well…tanner haha. I got lots of pictures and stuff but I sweated a WHOLE lot. My shirt got darker too…haha. I went home and chilled for abit until later we went to Time Square. While walking around, I end up buying some sweet kicks; a pair of black leather Converse, sooo beautiful!

Afterwards, my brother and I walk around and we just chill and head home next. We come home and we all shower and stuff, I actually ran out to get me a head band for later. That’s pretty much it. Dinner and now just chilling. No more!

HOME IN 9 DAYS!!!

Thanks.
